Uninstall/Install for all Non-USB & Non Transparency Scanners


Note: Please make sure that there are no applications running in the
background when you uninstall and reinstallation of the scanner software.

1. Right click on the Xerox Instant Access OCR from the task bar, left click
on Close
2. Click on START
3. Go to SETTINGS click on Control Panel
4. Click on Add/Remove Program and click on Plustek Scanner Installation,
then click on remove.
5. Right click on Start
6. Left click on Explore.
7. Left click on the plus sign on PROGRAMS working on the left-hand side.
8. Find Plustek Scanner on the left-hand side and then right click on
PLUSTEK SCANNER and left click on delete. "Yes to all if asked". (If not
there it was deleted when you did the uninstall Plustek scanner at the
beginning).
9. Scroll back to the top until you find PROGRAM FILES and left click on the
plus sign to open file. scroll down until you find PLUSTEK USA or 9630P,
right click on the word and left click on delete. "Yes to all if asked".
10. Click on START, FIND and click on files and folders.© Type twain*. * and
delete all contents, then type twunk*.* and again delete all contents.
11. Click on START, RUN and type in Scanfx.ini and click OK.(if not found
already deleted).
12. Click on EDIT, then select all and hit the delete key on your keyboard.
13. Click on File, Click on Save, Click on File, Click on EXIT
14. Click on Start,
15. Click on Run
16. Clear the open and type SYSTEM.INI
17. Click on Search then find and type 386enh and find next
18. Scroll down until you see the following Device=c:\OP600\OP600.386; and
delete that line. If you have duplicates of this line, delete them also.
Click on file and exit and SAVE your changes.
19. Make sure you delete files in your Windows Temp folder.© Right click on
start then left click on explore.© scroll down on the left hand side until
you found the folder called Temp, then go to edit and click on select all
and delete files in the Temp folder and then empty the recycle bin. .
20. Exit Windows Explorer

**This is a general rule of uninstalling most scanner software except ("T"
and P+) for changing the 386enh file that is under the system.ini file to
the scanner that you are uninstalling. (example: 4830P|4830P.386,
P600|P600.386).

Installation Instructions
1. Make sure and disable or uninstall any anti-virus you may be running on
your computer during startup.

* McAfee:© Go to start, program Mcafee and click on v shield, then go to
detection and find any and all lines that talk about disabling during startup
and icons on task bar and click on the checkbox to remove the checkmark.

* Norton's: Go to start, programs Norton's, click on Norton's anti virus and
then click on tools, options and auto protect.© Then find any and all lines
that talk about disabling during startup and icons on task bar and click on the
checkbox to remove the checkmark.

2.©© Close all running programs by holding down the ctrl and alt key
together and then click on the delete key once this will open the close
program box. Highlight one application at a time and click on end task, "DO
NOT CLOSE EXPLORER OR SYSTRAY".© If other box comes up staying "program is
busy" just click on the end task key.

3.© Insert the CD-ROM and click on Install Scanner Software. (PLEASE MAKE
SURE THAT THE SCANNER IS PROPERLY CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER BEFORE YOU BEGIN
INSTALLING THE SCANNER SOFTWARE).

4. Then when you get to the screen that shows typical, compaq or custom
click on "CUSTOM" installation and go to next. Install one application at a
time (making sure that only one component has a check in the box). Install
only the scanner driver.© For Windows 98 (otherwise go to step 5), go to
Start, Programs, Accessories and click on imaging.© Then click on file and
select scanner, select flatbed scanner.© Then click on file and scan new, if
scanner works.

5. Then install the rest of the components one at time by going back to
custom installation and start the process all over again until you have all
the components installed.

*Make sure you remember to enable your anti-virus from the above instructions.
