Problems Printing After a Scan solution (USB):

  1. From the Desktop click on START
  2. Click on SETTINGS
  3. Click on PRINTERS
  4. Right click on your printers icon
  5. Click on PROPERTIES
  6. From the Properties window, click on the DETAIL tab
  7. Click on the PORT SETTINGS button
  8. Deselect the "Check Port State Before Printing"
  9. Click on OK
  10. Click on the SPOOL SETTINGS button
  11. Make sure that the "Spool Data Format" is set to "RAW" (to change the mode click on the down arrow and then click on OK)
  12. If an option "Disable Bi-directional support for this printer" exists then deselect it.
  13. Click on APPLY then OK


Epson Printers: Most Epson printers have a Print Manager program that sometimes causes scanner or printer problems. Please note that the solution below is for Windows 95/98 users only.

  1. Close all programs and reboot the computer
  2. Click on Start
  3. Click on Programs
  4. Click on Epson
  5. Click on Spool Manager
  6. Highlight your Epson Printer in the Spool Manager Program
  7. Click on Queue
  8. Click on Setup
  9. Under the General Tab, make sure there is a check in the box labeled USE PRINT MANAGER FOR THIS PORT
  10. Click on OK
  11. Click on Queue
  12. Click on Exit
  13. Click on START
  14. Click on SETTINGS
  15. Click on PRINTERS
  16. Right mouse click on your Epson Printer Driver.
  17. Click on Properties
  18. Click on the DETAILS Tab
  19. Click on PORT SETTINGS
  20. If there is an X next to SPOOL MS-DOS PRINT JOBS then de-select this option
  21. If there is an X next to CHECK PORT STATE BEFORE PRINTING then de-select this option
  22. Click on OK
  23. Click on OK once again
  24. Close all open windows then rebbot the computer.

Test your printer to see if it is printing properly
