In addition to scanning images and documents up to 8.5" x 11.7" in size, the 12000T can scan both standard 35mm slides and negatives. With its low street price of $129, the 12000T is well suited for users seeking a scanner that offers greater versatility than standard flatbeds. The 12000T features 36-bit color depth and an optical resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi (9600 dpi maximum). Full versions of Adobe Photo Deluxe, Micrografx PicturePublisher 7.0, and Xerox TextBridge are included. The 12000T ships to major retailers April 30, 1999.
"The combination of a full-page scanner with an integrated film adapter is something that has never before been offered for under $200," said Carl Holec, senior imaging analyst for ARS, Inc. "With the introduction, Plustek has brought newfound versatility to the entry-level scanner market."
The 12000T offers more functions than previously available with scanners targeted to the home. With the trend in new affordable photo-quality printers, the 12000T allows users to easily create their own photographs from slides or negatives.

Furthermore, Plusteks own Action Manager 32 program. Action Manager 32 allows users to easily do a variety of faxing, copying or scanning activities.
The OpticPro 12000T features a parallel port design that offers an easy installation. The 12000T scans images with a single pass and uses a cold cathode lamp for long bulb life and accurate tonal reproduction. In addition, the unit is equipped with a Charge Couple Device (CCD) image sensor for smooth, detailed image reproduction.
