FASTEST COLOR SCANNING

In a recent PC Magazine performance test of seven color flatbed scanners, Plustek's OpticPro 9630PL was found to scan color images at the fastest speed.

PC Magazine editors stated that the OpticPro 9630PL is a fast scanner "logging the best score for color scans and the second best score for monochrome scans."

Surprisingly, Plustek's OpticPro 9630PL features an enhanced parallel port interface (EPP) vs. other models in the roundup that featured SCSI and proprietary interfaces. The single-pass 30-bit color flatbed scanner has an optical resolution of 600x1200 dpi and a scanning area of 8.5"x14".

IMAGING AWARDS

Plustek's Color 6000 sheetfed scanner was awarded Computer Life's 'Best of Everything' award and earned a five-star rating by editors.

The world's smallest sheetfed scanner, the PageReader 800, received praised from users around the world as well as a special 'award of excellence' from the Taiwanese government.

Plustek's multifunctional ScanFX earned several awards including BYTE magazine's prestigious 'Best of BYTE' award during Comdex/ Spring 1994.

In the January 1998 issue of Imaging magazine, Plustek's OpticPro 9630P was awarded the magazine's prestigious "Product of the Year" award. The 30-bit color flatbed color scanner has an optical resolution of 600x1200 dpi and is bundled with Micrografx's Picture Publisher as well as Expervision's TypeReader OCR software.

Imaging Magazine, known as the definitive source of knowledge regarding imaging products in the industry, chose the 9630P as "Product of the Year" because of its excellent price/performance value to consumers.

"...color scanners don't come much better than the OpticPro 9630P from Plustek," said Imaging Magazine.

The decision to award the 9630P as "Product of the Year" was based on Imaging Magazine's July 1997 review of the scanner. In that issue, Managing Editor Penny Lunt wrote, "Plustek's New OpticPro 9630P 30-bit color scanner is a good value...Its image quality is excellent."

Imaging Magazine isn't the first to recognize Plustek's superior quality and virtuoso performance. Numerous others have also honored Plustek over the years.

Recently, Plustek's 600P scanner was showcased on Computer Chronicles, the award-winning international television show that discusses upcoming technology.

The OpticPro 600P's high quality and low price were the deciding factors for its inclusion as the "Pick of the Week," beating out other vendors such as HP, UMAX, Mustek and Visioneer.

The OpticPro 9630P flatbed scanner received acclaim in the November 3, 1997 Computer Retail Week lab report. The 9630P faced heavy competition from companies like Microtek, Logitech, Umax and Visioneer.
